Top picks

Fubo features all the channels Chiefs fans need to watch the Mahomes show on Sundays, plus full coverage of Kansas, Kansas State, Texas, and Mizzou sports, minus ESPN+ games.

For a complete rundown of Fubo’s pros and cons, read our full review.

Paramount+ is to be applauded for rolling out the the NFL on CBS package for cord cutting sports fans. It is not a full streaming solution for most people, and doesn’t get you every NFL channel you need, but as a budget pick, will offer excellent coverage for most Chiefs games.

Not only does DirecTV Stream offer all the most important NFL channels, it is the only live TV streaming provider that carries Bally Sports Kansas City and Bally Sports Midwest. Bally Sports Kansas City will get subscribers access to Royals baseball, something no other streaming service can offer.

Hulu + Live TV carries CBS, ESPN, FOX, and NBC, and will offer Chiefs fans excellent coverage.

Out-of-Market

As a team with a national following, the Chiefs have a large out-of-market following. Now that YouTube TV has the rights to NFL Sunday Ticket, it’s easier than ever to watch the Chiefs regular season regardless of where you live.

Time needed: 10 minutes

How to watch the Chiefs out-of-market

  1. Visit the YouTube TV dedicated landing page for NFL Sunday Ticket

You don’t need a YouTube TV account to watch NFL Sunday Ticket, however, signing up without YouTube TV increases the price from $349 to $449, so it makes good economic sense to add Sunday Ticket to YouTube TV. Here is the signup link.

  2. If you have a YouTube TV account

Current YouTube TV subscribers can add Sunday Ticket to their existing account as an add-on.

If you do not live in the Kansas City market, or anywhere nearby, the best bet is NFL Sunday Ticket, which is the premium add-on the NFL offers to out-of-market fans. NFL Sunday Ticket is $349 for the season. If you’re out-of-market and want all the games guaranteed, yes, Sunday Ticket is worth the money. However, with the rise of Mahomes, the Chiefs have been on national TV and hybrid national, regional games more regularly. Sunday Ticket is probably more important for east coast Chiefs fans than west coast fans, who will get a good number of Chiefs games even out-of-market without paying for Sunday Ticket.

Chiefs player to watch this season – #15

While it’s not exactly a controversial pick, we can’t keep our eyes off Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs star QB, and part-owner of the Royals. Bengals fans won’t want to hear this, but Mahomes electric playing style is must-see TV.

FAQ

Which regions are in-market for Chiefs games?

The Chiefs are regularly featured in Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and parts of the mountain west. TV coverage for most NFL regular season games is regional. Local fans in Kansas City will get most Chiefs games on their CBS affiliate, KCTV CBS 5, as will some fans in markets close to Kansas City. For NFL fans in parts of Iowa for example, a state without an NFL franchise, the Chiefs will be their local NFL team. For a guarantee of tuning into Chief’s games, east and west coast fans will need to buy NFL Sunday Ticket, which is the NFL’s premium out-of-market product.

Which radio stations carry Chiefs games?

106.5 “The Wolf” is the official radio home of the Kansas City Chiefs, and the play by play audio can be live streamed here.
