Table of Contents
Although Oklahoma has announced a move to the SEC starting in 2024, for the 2023 season, the Sooners remain part of the Big 12 and will continue to play primarily on FOX, ABC, and ESPN.
Sooner fans will want to tune in this season to see how head coach Brett Venables does in his second year at the helm in Norman. There are several good options for live-streaming Oklahoma Sooners football, but our top picks for 2023 are Fubo and Hulu + Live TV. Fubo gets our top spot because of the ability to stream the Sooners in 4K, and because of the Multiview feature, which requires an Apple TV, but is perfect for NCAAF fans. Hulu, with its inclusion of ESPN+, is the only app that allows most Big 12 football fans to watch their team’s entire season from one app.

Oklahoma Sooners football live stream: our top picks
Oklahoma football is different than the rest of the Big 12 because Sooner’s games don’t air on ESPN+. For this reason, the Hulu + Live TV and ESPN+ bundle isn’t as important for Oklahoma fans unless they want to watch game film on an upcoming Big 12 opponent.
With the bulk of the Sooner’s games airing on ABC, ESPN, and FOX, we like fuboTV which is an excellent choice for streaming both pro and college football. One of the selling points with fuboTV is the ability to pause a subscription while football is in the off-season, which is a money saver for the fans only signing up to stream football.
Hulu + Live TV is usually our top pick for Big 12 football fans because the platform carries all the channels you need to live stream football, but also ESPN+.
Hulu is still a good choice for Sooners fans, but we like fuboTV better.
Despite the hefty price tag, we like DIRECTV STREAM “Choice” for Oklahoma football fans who also want to stream the Oklahoma City Thunder. DIRECTV STREAM “Choice” is the only live TV streaming service that carries Bally Sports Oklahoma and Bally Sports Midwest, the regional sports networks that air OKC Thunder and St. Louis Cardinals and Blues games.
YouTube TV is an innovator in the world of sports streaming. The Stats View and Key Plays features are perfect for Oklahoma fans who want real time access to relevant stats during the game. YouTube TV’s Stats View is a better version of ESPN’s Game Cast.
As a national brand in college football, most Sooner football games will air on major channels to a national audience, not on ESPN+. However, once a year the Sooners will play a game that is streamed exclusively on ESPN+.
This happens because, unlike the ACC, Big 10, and SEC, the Big 12 lacks a dedicated conference network. As such, the TV inventory for smaller Big 12 games gets gobbled up by ESPN+.
OU Football in 2023: What we are watching
Oklahoma football had a tough year last year, especially on defense, so we will have an eye on that side of the ball to see if the unit that gave up 49 points to Texas can turn things around. However, an even bigger story is the Sooner’s QB room. According to On3’s NIL rankings, the two highest-paid members of the OU team are freshman QB Jackson Arnold, a former 5-star recruit, and current starter Dillon Gabriel, a UCF transfer. Gabriel looks like he will be the starter in the opener, but watch for Arnold to get more snaps as the season progresses. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Jackson Arnold under center for the Sooners in their last two games of the 2023 season against BYU and TCU.
