According to Axios, it will cost a group of four almost $800 to attend a Knicks game this season, and that won’t get you anywhere close to Spike Lee. At those prices, we will be watching the Knicks from the couch.

The good news is that two live TV streaming services, fuboTV and DIRECTV STREAM, carry MSG, the regional sports network that broadcasts Knicks and Rangers games to in-market fans (fans in NY, NJ, and CT).

Some NY Knicks fans will also have heard of MSG+, the streaming service started by MSG Networks. If you live in the Tri-State area, you can watch Knicks games on the app, but only regular season games that don’t get picked up by national broadcasts.

If you want to watch the Knicks and Yankees, DIRECTV STREAM “Choice” is the only game in town.

If you don’t live in the NY area, you’re what’s known as an “out-of-market” fan, and you have more options to follow the Knicks. Out-of-market Knicks fans can add NBA League Pass to fuboTV, Sling TV and YouTube TV subscriptions, or signup à la carte through Amazon Prime.

If you live in the NY area

DIRECTV STREAM is the only live TV streaming service that allows Knicks fans to watch every single game from one platform, plus the Yankees on YES Network.

However, in order to take advantage of DIRECTV STREAM’s channel lineup, NY sports fans will be required to upgrade to the more expensive “Choice” package.

You can watch every Knicks game on fuboTV, except the games that air on TNT, as fuboTV doesn’t offer any Warner Media channels. This means no Shaq, Kenny, Ernie, and Charles.

Out-of-market Knicks fans can add NBA League Pass to a fuboTV subscription.

Watching the Knicks FAQ

Can I watch the Knicks on NBA League Pass?

Yes, but only if you live outside of the NY area. If you are a Knicks fan in NYC, or northern NJ, or Westchester, Knicks games will be blacked out on NBA League Pass in favor of the MSG broadcast. By contrast, if you live in LA and want to watch the Knicks, you can watch the games on NBA League Pass.

Can I watch the Knicks on Hulu?

Hulu doesn’t carry MSG or offer an upgrade to NBA League Pass, which means it’s not a great option for watching Knicks games. Only the Knicks games that air on ABC, ESPN, or TNT are available on Hulu.

Can I watch the Knicks on Roku?

Yes, you can watch the Knicks on a Roku device. If you are in-market, the two best options for watching the Knicks on a Roku device are DIRECTV STREAM and fuboTV. Both the fuboTV and DIRECTV STREAM apps are supported by most Roku devices. To add the DIRECTV STREAM app to Roku, find the “Streaming Channels” option on the left sidebar of the Roku home screen. This option will help you search for, and find, your live TV streaming app. Press “ok” when you have found your streaming app.

Can I watch the Knicks on Sling TV?

You can watch the Knicks out-of-market on Sling TV by adding NBA League Pass to an existing subscription. Sling TV is not a good option for in-market Knicks fans because the platform does not carry MSG, however, because the NBA playoffs are mostly national games, Sling TV Orange is a great budget pick for full coverage of the NBA playoffs.
