Two live TV streaming services, fuboTV and DIRECTV STREAM, carry NESN, the regional sports network that broadcasts Bruins and Red Sox games to sports fans in the northeast.

Our top pick for watching the Bruins is DIRECTV STREAM “Choice.”

The most important channels for Bruins fans

The majority of Bruins regular season games air on NESN. When the Bruins are on national TV, or in the playoffs, the games will be covered by ABC, ESPN, or TNT.

From the Boston area

In order to access the Bruin’s broadcasts on NESN, DIRECTV STREAM requires an upgrade to its more expensive “Choice” plan. With DIRECTV STREAM “Choice,” sports fans gain access to the local regional sports network in their viewing area, including NESN for watching Bruins and Red Sox games.

If you don’t live in Boston, to make 100% sure you will have access to NESN, confirm you are in the channel’s viewing area prior to paying for DTV.

NESN publishes a territory map, which can be viewed here.

fuboTV is another excellent choice for live streaming Bruins games. The platform carries NESN and NBC Sports Boston in the base package, and comes with 1,000 hours of DVR storage.

The main drawback with fuboTV for NBA and NHL fans is the app’s lack of TNT.

Outside of the NESN viewing territory, Bruins fans can watch the team out-of-market on ESPN+, or wait for the team to appear in nationally televised games.

ESPN+ is the new home of NHL.TV, which is the NHL’s out-of-market product. If you live in New England, Bruins games on ESPN+ will be blacked out to protect NESN’s TV rights.
