Australian fighter Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski holds the UFC featherweight belt. At UFC 284 from Perth, Australia, he’s on the hunt for “double champ” status when he moves up a weight class to take on the current lightweight champ, and Khabib Nurmagomedov protege, Islam Makhachev. MMA fans can live-stream the UFC 284 Main Card starting at 10 PM EST on 2/11/23 with ESPN+.

Unfortunately, you can’t watch UFC 284 in a free trial. The only way to watch the fights tonight is with ESPN+, either with an à la carte subscription, or by signing up for Hulu + Live TV’s ESPN+ bundle. Although the UFC PPV event will still cost you $79.99, plus the cost of ESPN+ at $9.99 per month, the cheapest option for watching UFC 284 is still to signup for ESPN+ alone.

UFC 284 storylines and predictions

One of the biggest storylines heading into UFC 284 is Islam Makhachev’s dissatisfaction with how the event was promoted.

Islam Makhachev will defend the UFC lightweight belt at UFC 284

As an avid UFC fan, I do take issue with the complaints by Makhachev simply because the fight is quite far away, and after the Main Event, which is intriguing, this is a lackluster fight card that might be better suited as a Fight Night in the Apex. Perhaps it was hard to get fighters to travel all the way to Australia. Having said that, outside of Makhachez, the fight styles on the card feature strikers, so UFC 284 Perth could have some fireworks.

There is no “value” betting on UFC 284

Unfortunately, many of the UFC’s sponsors are gambling organizations, so the betting angles are heavily promoted. If you bet on UFC 284, it is likely you will lose, so save your money and don’t waste it gambling. If you have a gambling problem, please visit this link.
