fuboTV is a sports centric live TV streaming service that we are fond of at Streaming Stadium. As a sports fan living in the Mountain West, I was happy to see the news that fuboTV had reached terms with Altitude Sports, the regional sports network that carries in-market Avalanche and Nuggets games to fans in Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Utah, as well as portions of Nevada, New Mexico, and South Dakota.
Especially with the recent success of the Avalanche, the addition of Altitude Sports makes fuboTV more valuable to sports fans in Denver, full stop.
And as a fuboTV user, I believe there are three coverage additions that would make the platform best in class for sports fans:
- Greater regional sports network coverage;
- Adding Turner sports channels TNT and TBS
- Out-of-market NFL
Adding Altitude Sports checks one of those boxes. The addition of Altitude Sports gives fuboTV coverage of all the major sports teams in Denver (Rockies games are carried by AT&T Sportsnet Rocky Mountain which fuboTV features already).
fuboTV added Altitude Sports the wrong way
However, the way that fuboTV went about rolling out the addition of Altitude Sports did rub me the wrong way. Up until now, one of the things that set fuboTV apart was the inclusion of regional sports networks, like AT&T Sportsnet Rocky Mountain, and the family of NBC RSNs, in the base package.
As a fuboTV subscriber in the Mountain West, i didn’t have the option of adding Altitude Sports. Instead, I received notice that my bill would go up by $11.99 per month as a result of fuboTV adding the channel, which means the fuboTV base package in Denver, Salt Lake, and other major western cities just went up by $11.99.
“In order to continue bringing you the best live sports coverage, entertainment and local news at the best value, we will be updating the price of your subscription. On or after your next billing cycle starting November 13, 2022, the new price of your RSN fee will be $11.99 per month.”

This is against the grain of how most channel upgrades work in the live TV streaming world.
For example, if I want to add the Tennis Channel, or SEC Network, to my fuboTV package, I can go in to my dashboard and add the “Sports Lite” package. Rather than “auto-adding” Altitude Sports it might have been better for fuboTV to add the channel to one of its premium packages.
Which live TV streaming services carry Altitude Sports?
With the announcement of fuboTV’s deal with Altitude Sports, you can now live stream Altitude in-market on both fuboTV and DIRECTV STREAM “Choice.”
